Thank You to Valeo

To whom it may concern:

I am writing this letter in recognition of Brian and CJ’s work in Olympia, returning the homeless back to work and gainful employment. Never before have I experienced two people who possess such an in-depth understanding of the dynamic of homelessness and the obstacles that a homeless person such as myself must overcome when genuinely trying to re-enter the workforce. These two men work together with people firmly yet fairly and provide many different resources freely to combat each person’s unique circumstances. I was given gas vouchers and an opportunity for housing at the Salvation Army, while my friend was provided a jump box because he had a bad battery. In return, all they require is a desire to work, that you show up on time daily, and to contact them in advance if you are unable to work that day.

I am writing this letter from a treatment center in Shelton, where Brian had arranged a counselor (drug and alcohol), and assessment, and a bed date all in one day. Although I was circumstantially unable to make that October 10th bed date...when I showed up for work the next morning, I was literally met with open arms from CJ who gave me a hug that I will never forget. Rarely has anyone impacted my life in a more positive way as these two men...When I received the help that I needed I was welcome to come back and resume our ultimate goal of placement with the City of Olympia as a Wastewater Operator... I told Brian that I would keep in contact throughout treatment, and he was happy for me.

I don’t know where you found these truly remarkable individuals, but there are no two better faces than these for your organization. As for me, I will join them in that respect by becoming one of the many stories of success that your organization has produced. All I can say now is thank you for the opportunity to participate in your program, and that these two men should be recognized for their shared and independent efforts.

Sincerely,

Daniel

P.S. I believe Valeo to be on the cutting edge of understanding, philosophy, and implementation of returning the homeless back to work, a blueprint for future organizations to follow
